Testimony
I grew up going to Pleasantville Baptist Church since I was two years old. When I was four years old, I went to my mother on a Sunday morning, and asked her to tell me more about Heaven and Hell. I was learning about them in Sunday School at the time, and became very interested. She then showed me from the Bible that I needed forgiveness for my sins. I prayed to Jesus, who was crucified for my sins, and asked Him to take me to Heaven when I die. As I grew older, still going to church, I looked forward to my future and wondered what God made me for. In the 6th grade, I was at a Jr. camp where they had a group of missionaries preaching. After one of the services, I asked to talk with a missionary and told him that I felt God calling me to be a missionary as well. From that point forward, I knew that God had made me to be a missionary, so that was my plan after graduating High School. After graduation I headed to Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma City to start my missionary training. Through those four years at Bible college, I learned that having burdens for other areas of ministry was not that same as God’s calling. I struggled with knowing whether to be a missionary, youth pastor, or an inner-city church planter. It was not until my senior year, that God really spoke to me and showed me that He truly did make me to be a missionary. He also confirmed my call to go to Japan, a place that I had been praying about since I was called to be a missionary. After serving at the church I grew up in for three years, I feel confident that God has led me to start transitioning into the mission of Japan.
